Ningbo Grand Theater is a key project in the new century decided to implement by Ningbo government for the purpose of promoting Ningbo cultural city construction during the tenth five year plan.
As a fine work of cultural artistic construction symbolizing Ningbo¨s image, the grand theater covered an area of 200mu (200〜667sq.m.) with a general construction space of 76800sq.m., and received about 6 hundred million yuan investment. Its construction design was a masterpiece from the romantic French construction designer HEPEIDE. The grand theater not only is Ningbo people¨s cultural and artistic hall featuring an impressive size, elegant appearance, advanced equipment, perfect function, beautiful surrounding, convenient transportation, but also a scenic spot of the city and an ideal recreation and leisure place for Ningbo citizens as well as tourists coming from home and abroad.
This multi-purpose theater admits about 800 people with a cubage of about 5900 steres, (7.4 steres for each seat). With a purpose of providing different effect and principle of convenient navigation and flexible management, the lighting system took advantage of various stage lamps to meet different needs and provided a good stage for the lighting engineer to serve artistic performances accurately.

Connected by fiber mainly and auxiliary wireless devices, the project of fully network lighting control system centered on controlling network lighting station, and linked the control room with dimmer, stage devices layer and general control room in the theater by using 3 pairs of fiber. Through the network communication signal port and dimming rack Reporter PC software, the lighting operators can view the PC or console screen to know real time information and working status of the system at any moment, so they can monitor or intervene in the lighting operation to correct the error and check operation in every console through network, for instance, check the operating submaster, cue, etc. they can also set node through PC, wired or wireless remote controller to realize the effect of specific control, multipoint control or hand-held remote control and auto control, thus solve the embarrassing problem that dimmer was the only way to control the performance.
The stable system, reasonable program of the system brought revolutionary convenience to the program rehearsal and creation. The system can be upgraded by using software while unchanging its hardware structure. Owing to ICP/IP protocol adoption, the system possess features of extensibility and compatibility.
